Catherin Ann Gumpert began her pastorate at the Readington Reformed Church on August 6, 2001. She was ordained and installed as the new pastor of the Readington Reformed Church on November 17, 2002.
Pastor Cathy was born and raised in Michigan, and graduated high school in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She has lived in San Francisco; Rochester, NY; Chicago; Texas (Houston and Plano), and the Princeton area while she attended Princeton Theological Seminary. She has lived in New Jersey longer than any other state, and has lived in Whitehouse Station longer than any other city. She has two adult children, David, and Rachel, both of whom graduated from Hunterdon Central. She was blessed with another daughter when her son married Ashley several years ago.
Pastor Cathy has a degree in theology (a Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary, 2008) and a Master of Divinity degree (also from PTS, 2000). Other education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, 1976) and a Masters of Science in Education (from a joint program with the University of Rochester and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, at Rochester Institute of Technology, 1982). She is currently enrolled in a course of study to become a spiritual director through An Croi, which is based in Ireland, and which offers a program in America through the Shrine of St. Joseph, in Long Hill/Stirling, NJ.
Pastor Cathy has served the Reformed Church in America locally, in the classis of Delaware-Raritan, as president, and on the Evangelism and Church Multiplication, the Administration, and the Program committees. She served the Regional Synod of the Mid-Atlantics on the Executive, Church Multiplication, Revitalization, and Personnel committees, and has been appointed to the Council on Judicial Business. Nationally, she has served on the Church Multiplication (as chair of the Empowerment subcommittee) and Revitalization committees, and has been honored to serve as moderator of two General Synod committees.Pastor Cathy was born and raised in Michigan and has lived in Wisconsin, Chicago, Texas, and the Princeton area while she attended Princeton Theological Seminary.
